Even though I gave up my 718 area code for a 908 doesn’t mean I can’t still love Brooklyn! It was nice to head back this past weekend to NYC for the wedding of Vanessa & Josh at the Montauk Club in Park Slope. Hell, I would have made the trip just for a taste of the NYC tap water I so dearly miss but I also got to hang out and shoot one intense group of guests. Now physics say you cannot fit 100 people on a 10 x 10 dance floor but I got a D- in that class so ignore what I have to say and just check out the scene…..

Tracey and Brian began the day with an amazing first look session at a private house overlooking the Navasink River. It sure did not hurt the photos having such a picturesque backdrop.

It was then onto the ceremony and reception in Sea Bright, NJ. Listen, the place is named Rum Runner so you just know what kind of night it is going to be. Just check out the party shots from Tracey & Brian’s wedding and see for yourself.

On this day nothing was stopping Christie and Evan from having a good time. After a beautiful ceremony “in the round” at St Vincent Martyr in Madison NJ we took a rainy drive over to Lambert Castle for some portraits. The sky cleared, the sun came out and we got some classic images. It was then off to Westmount Country Club for a night of summer time dancing.

I met Sarah & Rich at Colonial Park in Somerset, NJ for a nice outdoors Engagement Shoot. With the clouds looming, we rushed around to beat out the rain. No way were we getting rained out for a third time! This shoot was going to happen even if we had to wear yellow ponchos and galoshes! (Hmmm… not a bad idea for a future shoot!) We even got a chance to head over to the Lone Star Steakhouse in Bridgewater where they met 7 years ago. Thanks for the tasty Summer Ale!

I am looking forward to their wedding in September at Lake Valhalla. It is one extraordinarily beautiful venue.

Wedding Photography NJ – Scranton Cultural Center – Christine & Dave

I feel for Scranton, Pennsylvania. It gets a bad wrap the same way that New Jersey suffers because of the the likes of Snookie and the Housewives.

Christine & Dave, who now live outside NYC, met at the University of Scranton and brought the fun of college back to Scranton for one day. After a beautiful ceremony at Our Lady of Snows we drove around Scranton in a trolley from Kelly & Co Trolley Service. I can’t even begin to describe how cool this is. I would take this over a limo any day. Especially because I have learned that there is just no way to gracefully exit a limo.

After some stops at Lake Scranton and the house where Christine & Dave first kissed we headed to the Cultural Center of Scranton. A stunning venue with beautiful architecture and a great history.

New Jersey Wedding Photographer – Stroudsmoor Country Inn – Erin & Rick

One of the nicest compliments I can receive is when a sibling of a previous client hires me. Erin & Rick hired me after I photographed the wedding of Erin’s sister Kelly & Arthur at Basking Ridge Country Club. This time we headed out to the Stroudsmoor Country Inn and knowing that this family liked to dance I was ready for the good times that followed.

A quick word about the cake topper below….. It is an original Rose O’Neill Kewpie Doll from the 1930′s. It was first used by Erin’s grandparents in 1933. It was the cake topper once again at her parents wedding in 1974 and her sisters wedding in 2009. Pretty cool huh!?!?!?!

So to tie it all together how about a little quote that I found while reading about Rose O’Neill.
